SAXONBURG — The Saxonburg Area Artists Cooperative hosts its second annual high school senior art exhibit May 6 to 28 at the SAAC gallery, 215 Main St., Rear.

A reception for the student artists will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. May 7.

Six area school districts are participating. Each district will be represented by two students, each exhibiting two pieces of their work.

The student participants are selected by their respective art instructors based on originality, creativity, use of media, and execution and craftsmanship.

Participating schools include Knoch High School with Jenna Morrow and Jessica Smith exhibiting. Instructors are Christi and Mark Weleski. Other schools are Kittanning High School, St. Joseph High School, Valley High School, Deer Lakes High School and Highlands High School.

Summer gallery hours starting Sunday will be 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays, 1 to 9 p.m. Fridays and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturdays. Other times are by appointment.
