Monster Bash
Classic monster film fans from across the nation and around the globe will descend upon Butler for the Monster Bash Conference & Expo running Friday through Sunday at the Butler Days Inn, Route 8.
This year's bash features a vampire theme.
Guests of honor will include:
• Ed Nelson from “Attack of the Crab Monsters,” “Thriller” with Boris Karloff, and “Peyton Place” for many years.
• Robert Dix from the James Bond movie “Live and Let Die,” “Blood of Dracula's Castle,” “Gunsmoke” and “The Rifleman,” among others.
• Dawn Wells, known as Mary Ann from “Gilligan's Island” (Gilligan was bitten by a bat once and thought he was becoming a vampire).
• European starlets from the 1960s and 1970s: Veronica Carlson from “Dracula Has Risen from the Grave,” Caroline Munro from “Dracula A.D. 1972” and the James Bond movie “The Spy Who Loved Me,” and Yvonne Monlaur from “Brides of Dracula.”
• From “Night of the Living Dead,” John Russo, Kyra Schon and George Kosana.
• Tom Savini from “Dawn of the Dead” and “Creepshow.”
• Book signings by many authors including G.M. Goodwin of “Full Moon Curse.”
• And Pittsburgh television legend Bill Cardille, known as “Chilly Billy” to “Chiller Theatre” fans, will be in attendance Saturday.
About 200 vendors will feature classic movie memorabilia, original movie posters, DVDs, magazines, comic books and all manner of collectibles.
A movie film fest will run almost nonstop throughout the weekend.
Admission will be $20 per day at the door, or $45 for a three-day admission at the door. A three-day VIP pass is available for $40 until Friday. Children younger than 12 are admitted free when accompanied by a paying adult.
