Band night to feature circus theme

The Underground Gallery at The Art Center, 344 S. Main St., will have a circus-themed band night Friday for the opening of the exhibit “The Underground Circus.”

This exhibit features a circus or carnival theme and will continue through Sept. 30.

The band Until the Daybreak will release its first CD at the opening.

Other local bands performing will include Oceans of Glass, DotDotDot-SheLovesMeNot, Bipolar Monkey Puppets, William James and Purple Hippos.

The doors will open at 6:30 p.m. with the show starting at 7 p.m. Cover is $5 at the door. Patrons are encouraged to dress up in circus-inspired fashions.

The next show in the Underground Gallery will be “The Art of Horror VI” running Oct. 14 through Nov. 11. This show will feature the darker side of artistic expression. For more information, call 724-283-6922 or send e-mail to art24aws@yahoo.com.

Entries for the “Nature & Wildlife” art exhibit that will take place in the main gallery are due by 4 p.m. Saturday. Entry forms can be downloaded from www.aabcArtCenter.com or picked up at The Art Center during regular hours of noon to 6 p.m. Wednesdays through Fridays and noon to 4 p.m. Saturdays.

The “Nature and Wildlife” exhibit will run Sept. 9 to Oct. 7.
