Moraine State Park, Muddy Creek Township, hosts historic oil well operation from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. The central powerhouse is beyond the Forestry and Regional office on Park Road. “Tag a Monarch” will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday. A free full moon paddle program is set for 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, departing from McDanel's Launch. To reserve a kayak or to register, call the park office at 724-368-8811.
<B>McConnells Mill State Park</B>, Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County, hosts its 18th annual heritage festival from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sept. 24 and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sept. 25 at the gristmill. The festival celebrates the operational time of the mill from 1852 to 1928, and costumed vendors will display crafts inspired by this time.
