Red Barn Season opens with comedy

FRANKLIN TWP, Beaver County — The Red Barn Players’ first show of the season will be the comedy “The Lady Who Cried Fox” running for nine performances starting Friday.

Curtain is at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and June 7 to 9 and 13 to 16 at the Red Barn Theater on Route 228, the Ellwood-Zelienople Road.

In the play, when a jealous actor who’s always on the road finds his wife has taken on a young male roommate to meet expenses, the show does not go on. He immediately returns home to their basement apartment to find out what’s going on.

The show, written by Edward Clinton, is directed by Hazel Zimmerman of New Brighton.

The cast includes Kaye Burnet and Maria Newton, both of Cranberry Township, Pete Kucan of Ellwood City, Aaron Zimmerman of New Brighton and Scott Keener of Ben Avon.

Tickets are $12, and reservations are available at 724-773-7150.

• "Tuesdays with Morrie” a play, July 6-7, 12-14, and 18-21

• “Over the Tavern,” a play, Aug. 10-11, 16-18 and 22-25.

• “Suds,” a musical comedy, Sept. 14-15, 19-22 and 26-29.
