“BCH CYG” is an acrylic painting by Jason Woolslayer that will be part of the Art Faculty Exhibit opening Friday at The Art Center.

Faculty members from local colleges and high schools have offered a variety of creative entries for the Art Faculty Exhibit.

The show, hosted by the Associated Artists of Butler County, opens with a reception at 7 p.m. Friday at The Art Center, 344 S. Main St.

Admission is free and light refreshments will be served.

The exhibit will remain at The Art Center through Sept. 28.

The Fabulous '50s Show in the Underground Gallery continues.

Gallery hours are noon to 6 p.m. Wednesdays through Fridays and noon to 4 p.m. Saturdays.

A second opening and awards ceremony, free to the public and sponsored by the Cranberry Township Community Chest, will be held Oct. 12 at the Cranberry Township Municipal Center, 2525 Rochester Road, Cranberry Township. At this event, the winners of $1,000 in cash awards will be announced. The exhibit will then remain on display at the municipal center through Nov. 9.Fall art classes have begun.
