Moraine Preservation Fund conducts summer cruises on its Nautical Nature pontoon boat from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays through Oct. 28. There are also Wednesday Night pizza cruises that begin at 5 p.m. Fees are involved. Call 724-368-9185 or 724-368-8811 for reservations.
Jennings Environmental Education Center, Route 528, Brady Township, is looking for individuals willing to spend a fall day pitching in at the park to celebrate the 19th annual National Public Lands Day from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 29. Participants must be 12 or older and must register by calling 724-794-6011 or visiting www.dcnr.state.pa.us/Calendar/ no later than Sept. 21. Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts from the Junior Girl Scout and Webelo Scout age levels and up can take part in National Public Lands Day activities on Sept. 30. Call for registration.
McConnells Mill State Park in Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County, will be the site of “A Taste of History: Dutch Oven Cooking” from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, and a historic bread baking class from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 22. Register by calling 724-368-8811. The mill is open 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays through October. Admission is free.
