Moraine State Park will be the site of the free kayak programs “Fall Evening on the Lake” from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Monday, “Silver Paddle” from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, and “Fall Foliage Paddle” from 1 to 3 p.m. Oct. 21. Historic oil well operation demonstrations will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the central powerhouse site beyond the forestry and regional office building on Park Road off Route 528.
Moraine Preservation Fund conducts summer cruises on its Nautical Nature pontoon boat from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays through Oct. 28. Fees are involved. Call 724-368-9185 or 724-368-8811 for reservations.
McConnells Mill State Park in Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County, off Route 422, will have a fall dog hike from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Oct. 20 starting from Hell’s Hollow. The historic gristmill is open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays through October. Admission is free. Call 724-368-8811.
