Country star John Michael Montgomery will perform for the inaugural Country Music Show sponsored by Butler County Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 107 at 1 and 6 p.m. Nov. 4 at the Slippery Rock University Field House. The band North of Mason-Dixon, or NOMAD, will open for Montgomery. Admission is by $22.50 donation in advance, and paid admissions can be held at the box office. For tickets, call 724-282-9119. Tickets at the door will be $25. Proceeds benefit FOP Lodge 107.

Handel's “Messiah” rehearsals have begun for the New Castle Music Club under the direction of Butler resident Harry Cunningham. Rehearsals are from 7 to 9 p.m. Mondays. Anyone may participate. The presentation will be at 3 p.m. Nov. 25 at St. Jude's Episcopal Church, formerly Trinity Episcopal Church, 212 N. Mill St. Call 724-652-8773.
