The 34th annual Young Artist Competition sponsored by the Butler County Symphony Association will be held Jan. 20 in Swope Music Hall at Slippery Rock University.

The winner will perform with the orchestra for the March 9 concert. The competition is open to any graduate of a high school within a 25-mile radius of Butler, or to any student currently attending Allegheny, Geneva, Grove City, Thiel or Westminster colleges or Clarion, Indiana (Pa.) or Slippery Rock universities.

Age limit is 25 years. Deadline for applications is Dec. 10.
