Holiday Sounds
The Butler County Symphony Orchestra will present an evening of holiday themed music at 7:30 p.m. Saturday in the Butler Intermediate High School auditorium.
Featuring the Butler Senior High Singers under the direction of Byran Helsel, the concert will include “The Night Before Christmas” and “Peace, Peace, Peace” along with a selection of Klezmer music and Rimsky-Korsakov's “Snow Maiden Suite.”
Guest conductor for the show is Walter Morales.
A native of Costa Rica, Morales is the music director of the Edgewood Symphony Orchestra and Undercroft Opera and is principal guest conductor of the Pittsburgh Philharmonic.
He is an active concert pianist and recording artist and has extensively toured the United States and Central and South America.
He has performed as soloist with the National Symphony Orchestra of Costa Rica, Symphony Orchestra of Chile, Carnegie Mellon Philharmonic, University of Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, Carnegie Mellon Wind Ensemble, and McKeesport Symphony Orchestra, among others.
