'Martha Speaks' comes to Seneca Valley high school

JACKSON TWP — Pittsburgh International Children’s Theater is presenting Theatreworks USA in the Pittsburgh premiere of “Martha Speaks” at different locations, including 2 p.m. Sunday at Seneca Valley Senior High School.

“Martha Speaks” is a musical based on the books “Martha Speaks” and “Martha Calling,” written by Susan Meddaugh.

The play follows the adventures of Helen, her family, and their dog, Martha.

In one story, Martha eats a bowl of alphabet soup and begins to talk.

The show lasts about 55 minutes and is recommended for children ages 3 to 10.

Meddaugh has written and illustrated many books including the “Martha” series which is based on her own dog, Martha.

Tickets are $11 at the door or $9.50 in advance and can be ordered online at www.trustarts.org/kids or by calling 412-456-6666.
