Penn's Colony Fest marks 30th year
CLINTON TWP — The 30th annual Penn’s Colony Festival & Folk Art Marketplace runs this weekend and next, rain or shine, on the grounds at Penn’s Colony Village, 365 Saxonburg Blvd., off Route 228.
Potters, leather workers and contemporary craftsmen will be among the sites of this family-oriented event planned Saturday and Sunday and Sept. 28 and 29.
The Penn’s Colony Festival represents events in an 18th century community at harvest time blended with the French & Indian War era (1754-1760).
Activities include merchant markets, trials, horse races, circus acts, music and food.
Festival-goers can watch battle re-enactments, or enjoy re-enactors in the living history camp portray British, French, Scottish, colonial and Native American groups.
Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturdays and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sundays.
Tickets are $7 for ages 16 to 59; $6 for age 60 and older; and $5 for ages 8 to 15.
In recognition of the 30th anniversary, occupants of every 30th car entering the main gate will receive free admission. For more information, call 724-352-9922.
