African Children's Choir will perform at LifePointe church
The African Children’s Choir will perform at 9:30 and 11 a.m. June 2 at LifePointe Alliance Church, 997 Route 228, Mars.
The program will feature children’s songs, traditional spirituals and gospel favorites as well as African dances.
Admission is free, but donations will be accepted to support the African Children’s Choir programs, in education, care and relief, and development.
The choir also will perform in Pittsburgh at 7 p.m. June 2 at the Elsie H. Hillman Auditorium, 1825 Centre Ave.
The choir has performed before presidents, heads of state, and most recently Queen Elizabeth II for her diamond jubilee. It has also sung alongside artists such as Paul McCartney, Annie Lennox, Keith Urban and Mariah Carey.
Music for Life, the parent organization, works in Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda and South Africa. Music for Life has educated more than 52,000 children.
