8th annual ethnic food fair Feb. 5-6 at St. Ferdinand

CRANBERRY TWP - Indulge yourself in the foods Grandma used to make at the eighth annual St. Ferdinand Ethic Food Fair on Feb. 5 and 6.

American fare, as well as real food from Poland, Italy, Greece and Mexico, will be on sale in Oldenski Hall.

With a seating capacity in the hall of 240, there will be plenty of room for the whole family to dine at the same table while sampling specialties from far-away places. Menu prices vary.

The Italian booth will feature homemade lasagna, wedding soup, spaghetti and meatball sandwiches. Greek gyros, salads and baklava will be offered. Haluski and kielbasa with sauerkraut will be on the European menu.

This side of the Atlantic will be represented by Mexican favorites. The American food booth will feature hot dogs and french fries.

"It's the one the kids eat at," said Tara Golgosky, spokeswoman for the event.

The food at the ethnic festival is made by individual parish organizations, and each booth offer a gift basket replete with treats representing the booth's nationality. Tickets for the gift basket raffles will be sold three for $1.

An around-the-world dessert table will offer after-dinner sweets to suit every palate.
