Feast day of St. Agnes

During a ceremony Friday at the Vatican. Pope John Paul II blesses two lambs whose wool will be sheared to make a band for newly appointed archbishops. The traditional blessing, at the Apostolic Palace, takes place on the feast day of St. Agnes, a martyr of early Christianity who is often symbolized by a lamb.
