CHRIST COMMUNITY U.M.

The sacrament of Holy Communion will be celebrated during weekend worship services at Christ Community United Methodist Church, 205 N. Duffy Road.

CHRISTIAN COMMUNITY

CHRISTIAN PRAISE AND WORSHIP

Registrations are now being accepted for the AWANA Kids Club at Christian Praise and Worship Church, Route 68, Bradys Bend. The program, open to children age 3 through grade 7, will begin at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 13. For information or to register, call Pat Check at 724-526-5202.

Amanda Sybert will provide music for the 10 a.m. Sunday service.

COVENANT PRESBY

The sacrament of the Lord's Supper will be celebrated during the 10 a.m. worship service at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 230 E. Jefferson St.

The Covenant Cupboard Food Bank is requesting donations of ketchup, mustard and mayonnaise during September. Baskets are located in the Jefferson Street entrance hall.

EAST BUTLER PRESBY

Sunday school classes will resume Sunday at East Butler Presbyterian Church, Ninth and Randolph streets, East Butler. Children in grade 6 and younger will be dismissed during the 9:30 a.m. service for Sunday school. junior/senior high and adult classes will begin at 8:30 a.m.

FAITH FELLOWSHIP

This Friday will be the final family night for the summer at Faith Fellowship Alliance Church, 200 Faithway-Fared Drive. Participants should take a dish to share.

Ministry classes for all ages will be held at 6 p.m. Sundays through November.

Awana clubs for preschool age children through sixth graders will begin meeting Wednesday. Meetings will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. each week. Dues are 25 cents per child each week.

FIRST BAPTIST

First Baptist Church, 221 W. New Castle St., will host a kickoff meeting for choir members and church members interested in joining the choir at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the Baptist Youth Center. Lunch will be provided.

A cookout for members of the Bible Tweens Wednesday night group and their parents will be held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in the church parking lot.

FIRST U.M.

The Wesley Chorale will resume rehearsals at 7 p.m. today in the sanctuary at First United Methodist Church, 200 E. North St. For information, contact Eric Wicks at 724-283-6160, ext. 224.

An ice cream social will be held after the 7 p.m. Saturday God's Country service. Donated pies should be dropped off prior to the service.

Communion will be served at the 8:20 a.m. Sunday service.

The Christian Writers will resume their monthly meetings from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday. For information, call the church office at 724-283-6160.

There will be no Ground Zero youth meeting on Sunday. The group will meet on Sept. 11 for its fall kickoff at the Slear residence. For information or directions, contact Doug Raraigh at the church office.

The office will be closed Monday in observance of Labor Day. All Monday activities will be cancelled.

FIRST ENGLISH LUTHERAN

Senior choir practice at First English Lutheran Church, 241 N. Main St., will be at 7:30 p.m. today.

Sunday school will begin this year with family Sunday school at 9:45 a.m. Sept. 11.

The next healing service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Sept. 11

The choir will sing at the 11 a.m. service on Sept. 11.

GLADE RUN U.P.

The Passionate Praise Choir of Glade Run United Presbyterian Church, 1091 Pittsburgh Road, Valencia, begins practices at 6:30 p.m. today. This short-term choir will meet every other week and sing on occasion at the second worship service. Call at 724-538-9817 for more information.

The church offices will be closed on Monday in observance of Labor Day.

The board of Meals-on-Wheels will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Plans for this year's R.O.C.K. (Reaching Out to Christ's Kids) program are under way. The after-school program will meet every Wednesday until 6:30 p.m. Dinner will be served. All youth in grades kindergarten through 12 are welcome. To volunteer or to register, call 724-898-1016.

GRACEWAY COMMUNITY

A service will be held at 10:45 a.m. Sunday at GraceWay Community Church, Butler Days Inn, Heritage Room, in memory of Jacob Michael Rankin, son of Jim and Michele Rankin.

Mary Ann Mahan will provide music for the 9:30 a.m. Sunday service.

HARVEST ASSEMBLY

Rich Impellizzeri will the guest speaker at the 10 a.m. Sunday service at Harvest Assembly of God, 160 Brownsdale Road.

HILL U.P.

The Sacrament of the Lord's Supper will be celebrated at the 6 p.m. Saturday and 10:30 a.m. Sunday services at Hill United Presbyterian Church, 501 Second St.

A piano and keyboard orchestra will perform at the 10:30 a.m. Sunday service.

Adult chancel choir and handbell choir rehearsals will resume Sept. 8. The handbell choir will practice at 6:30 p.m., followed by the chancel choir at 7:30 p.m.

Sunday school classes for children age 3 and older and adults will resume at 9:15 a.m. Sunday. Adults will meet in the fellowship hall for the Faith Builders breakfast and an overview of classes beginning the following week. Children ages 3 through grade 6 should report to the balcony for opening exercises. Teens will meet in the downstairs lounge to prepare bag lunches for the community.

MT. CHESTNUT PRESBY

Communion will be served at the 8:45 and 11 a.m. Sunday services at Mt. Chestnut Presbyterian Church, 727 Old West 422. The Rev. Jeffrey Curtis will also be honored for over 10 years of service to the church.

The office of North Main Street Church of God, 1201 N. Main St. Ext., will be closed Monday in observance of Labor Day.

Regular Wednesday evening activities will resume this week beginning with the Fellowship Dinner at 6 p.m. in Fellowship Hall. Noah's Park for children age 4 through grade 5 will begin at 6:45 p.m. in Noah's Park. Kid's Bible Club for 2- and 3-year-olds will begin at 7 p.m. in room 107. Youth in grades six through 12 will meet at The Haven for Games and Groups at 6:35 p.m. The women's Wednesday evening Bible study will begin at 7 p.m. in Fellowship Hall 9. The Wednesday evening adult Bible study will begin at 7 p.m. in the Parlor. Choir rehearsal will begin at 7 p.m. in the sanctuary.

OAK HILLS CHRISTIAN

Beginning Sunday, Sunday school at Oak Hills Christian Church, 113 Township Line Road, will begin at 9:30 a.m. and worship services will start at 10:45 a.m.

OLD UNION PRESBY

A "Worship as you Work" event will be held Sunday at Old Union Presbyterian Church, 200 Union Church Road, Mars. Participants should wear work clothes for a church work day.

This week's worship service will be led by the Rev. Dick Morledge, pastor emeritus of Bakerstown Presbyterian Church and former dean of the chapel at Grove City College. The missions committee will meet after worship this week.

A budget forum will be held at 7 p.m. Sept. 8.

On Sept. 11 Sunday school begins. There also will be a Ghana Presentation during worship and a fellowship dinner will follow the worship service.

RIDER U.P.

The sacrament of Holy Communion will be celebrated at the 10 a.m. Sunday service at Rider United Presbyterian Church, 189 Rider Church Road, West Sunbury

SPRINGDALE LUTHERAN

Regular 9 a.m. Sunday services will resume this week at Springdale Lutheran Church, 1061 Mahood Road, West Sunbury. The Rev. Karl Schoch will lead the service this week.

ST. JOHN'S REFORMED

The fall schedule at St. John's Reformed Church, Route 68 at Benbrook Road, will begin Sunday with Sunday school at 9:45 a.m. and services at 11 a.m.

ST. JOHN U.C.C.

Communion will be served at the 8:35 and 10 a.m. Sunday services at St. John's United Church of Christ, 501 E. Main St., Evans City.

The 10 a.m. Sunday service will return to 11 a.m. on Sept. 11 as a part of the annual Rally Day activities.

ST. MARK'S EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN

The Rev. Robert Strobel will begin his interim ministry this weekend at St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 201 W. Jefferson St.

Communion will be served at the Saturday evening and Sunday morning services.

The bell choir will resume practices from 6 to 7 p.m. beginning today. The choir is open to new members in grade 7 and older. Music reading experience is helpful, but not necessary.

The Women of the Church will meet for a Bible study at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in the Choir Robing Room.

ST. PETER'S EPISCOPAL

St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 218 E. Jefferson St. will return to its fall schedule on Sunday. Holy Communion will be held at 8:15 a.m. and Holy Communion or morning prayer at 10:30 a.m.

Church school will resume Sept. 11 and classes will be held from 9 to 10:15 a.m.

The Daughters of the King will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

The first meeting of the church women will be held at noon Sept. 8 in the parish hall. Bring a bag lunch.

ST. RICHARD R.C.

Parents of Little Ones of St. Richard Roman Catholic Church, 3841 Dickey Road, Gibsonia, invites all parents of children under the age of 6 to their first meeting on at 9 a.m. Wednesday in the social hall. Childcare will be provided.

The worship committee will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Forever Young seniors group, will hold its first meeting of the fall at noon Sept. 8 in the social hall.

The life teen group will volunteer at the Lighthouse Food Bank from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Sept. 8.

The Temporalities Committee will meet at 7 p.m. Sept. 8.

The annual parish picnic will be held Sept. 11 beginning at 2 p.m.

TRINITY LUTHERAN

The Lord's Supper will be shared at the 6:30 p.m. Saturday and 8:30 a.m. Sunday services at Trinity Lutheran Church, 120 Sunset Dr.

The Children's Hour preschool ministry will begin at 9:30 a.m. Sept. 14. Registration forms are available in the narthex.

WELCA's monthly Bible studies will begin at 10 a.m. Sept. 8.

The McCandless Bell Choir will begin weekly rehearsals at 7 p.m. Sept. 8. The choir is open to new members.

TRINITY PRESBY

The Sacrament of the Lord's Supper will be celebrated Sunday at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 107 Staley Ave. The Rev. William Jamieson will be the guest minister.

Sugar is being collected for the Covenant Food Cupboard during September. Donations can be left in the designated box in the narthex.

ZION LUTHERAN

Regular 11 a.m. Sunday services will resume this week at Zion Lutheran Church, 266 Zion Church Road, Chicora. The Rev. Karl Schoch will lead the Sunday service this week.

Schoch will also lead an adult Bible study from 10:15 to 10:45 a.m. at the church.
