JEFFERSON TWP — St. Luke's Lutheran Church and School will host a concert featuring six contemporary musical groups from 2:30 to 9 p.m. Sunday in a pavilion on the church grounds, 330 Hannahstown Road.

Held as part of the church's 160th anniversary celebration, the event will feature Christian band Saline along with Pittsburgh-based bands Annasay, 70 x 7 and Switch. Butler-based For the Record and St. Luke's youth band Oasis will also perform.

Based in Selinsgrove, Snyder County, Saline was accepted as one of 64 Christian artists for the 2006 season of C.A.T.S (Christian Artist Talent Search) on the national INSP cable network. Saline has recorded, produced and distributed two independent albums of original work.

Saline also was ranked in the top three for all unsigned pop bands by daily view and was simultaneously ranked in the top three for all unsigned Christian bands by daily view on the independent music site, purevolume.com.

Tickets will be available for $7 for adults and $5 for children at the door. Seating will be provided in the pavilion, or concert goers may take chairs or blankets for lawn seating.

The outdoor concert is part of a day of celebration that also is open to the public.

The day will begin with a hymn sing followed by outdoor worship.

A pot-luck lunch will follow at noon, with adult and children's games and historical displays at 1:30 p.m.
