3:04 a.m. Sunday — Linda Noa, 30, of Butler was charged with simple assault and Christopher Kowal, 32, of Butler was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia after police responded to a 911 hangup call from their residence at 403 E. Penn St. Kowal told police Noa scratched, bit, strangled and punched him. Police reported Kowal had bruises and marks matching the description of the attack. Noa told police she was defending herself from being strangled, but had "no injury to support the claim." While at the scene, police found the marijuana and two pipes.8 a.m. May 13 — Ronald Earnest, 42, and Jamie Maga, 20, both of Butler, were charged with theft receiving stolen property and criminal conspiracy after stolen metal was found in a van on Euclid Avenue. Among the $200 worth of scrap metal and stainless steel were pieces marked "Wise Machine," the name of a Butler company.7:58 a.m. Tuesday — Michele Birckbichler of Butler reported a hit-and-run accident in which an unknown vehicle struck her vehicle while it was parked on Standard Avenue overnight.5:58 a.m. Monday — A pickup driven by Robert Cumberland, 40, of Butler and a pickup driven by Bryan Fleeger, 35, of Petrolia collided on East Jefferson Street. Following the collision, Cumberland's vehicle struck a utility pole. No injuries were reported. Cumberland was cited for not driving within the proper lane.

3:31 a.m. Tuesday — A car driven by Kathy Breese, 29, of Grove City and a car driven by Eric Irvin, 24, of Cranberry Township collided at the intersection of Route 8 and Litman Road. No one was injured. Breese was cited for failing to stop at a red light.

3:10 p.m. Sunday — A car driven by Steven Hahn, 23, of East Butler and a motorcycle driven by Randall Yockey, 41, of Butler collided at the intersection of Route 8 and Clearview Circle. Yockey, who was wearing a helmet, was flown by medical helicopter to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh for treatment. He was listed in critical condition this morning. Hahn was wearing a seat belt and was not injured. Butler Ambulance and the Unionville Volunteer Fire Department assisted at the scene. Police are investigating the crash.

3 p.m. Monday — Robin J. Bowser, 54, of Sandy Lake was arrested for violating a protection from abuse order by contacting Bethany Bowser, 42, at Grove City Medical Center.4:01 p.m. Saturday — A car driven by Earl E. Skelton III, age unavailable, struck a gas pump at the Route 58 Sheetz with an open car door. Skelton, who was not wearing a seat belt, was not injured. He fled the scene.

Monday — Thefts from maintenance sheds at two Worthington locations were reported.Buffalo Valley Sportsman's Club on Yellow Dog Road reported the theft of about 10 gallons of gasoline, a red and orange Shindaiwa weed trimmer (model T231X), an orange and white Stihl chainsaw with an 18-inch bar (Model MS 390) and 10 bags of crushed aluminum cans from a white shed between 11 p.m. Sunday and 11:30 a.m. Monday.Shadyside Village reported the theft of one box of 3,000 three-inch Pro Strip nails, a nail gun, 400 feet of 10-2 copper pump wire, 2,000 feet of different copper wire, 300 feet of No. 4 Tri Plex copper wire, 100 feet of No. 2 service copper cable, 100 feet of No. 10 pump copper wire, 300 feet of various size liquid tight conduit copper wire and about $5 in cash.Anyone with information about either theft should call state police at 724-543-2011.Thursday — Michael Balentine, 37, of Freeport was charged with theft. He is accused of stealing about 900 feet of copper wire from Mahoning Township Elementary School on Pheasant Farm Road between 5:30 p.m. May 17 and 6:30 p.m. May 18.

8 a.m. Monday — A red Chevrolet Cavalier, driven by an unknown person, struck the rear of a car driven by Christine Cortazzo, 34, of Irwin while it was stopped at a stop sign on the Interstate 79 exit ramp to Route 422 in Muddy Creek Township. Cortazzo was wearing a seat belt and was not injured. Anyone with information about the hit-and-run driver should call state police at 724-284-8100.
