Baierl Automotive

“A wonderful, caring neighbor in our community.” That’s how Glenn Callihan, vice president of the American Cancer Society’s Western Pennsylvania Region, described Baierl Automotive as he accepted a $30,000 donation from Lee Baierl, president, and Bob Baierl, vice president/operations at Baierl Automotive.

During December, Baierl Automotive teamed up with the cancer society for its first Holiday Drive for the Cure campaign, supporting the programs and services of the society. During the campaign, Baierl Automotive donated $50 to the society for every car that it sold in December.

All totaled, nearly 600 cars were sold for a total of $30,000 donated to the cancer society.

“In these difficult financial times, it’s because of companies like Baierl that we are able to respond to our current 47 percent increase in requests for patient services and information that we are currently receiving in our call center,” Callihan said.

Baierl Automotive will also be teaming up with the cancer society as a sponsor of the society’s Coaches vs. Cancer Hoops For Hope Gala on May 1 at the Senator John Heinz History Center. The gala will be hosted by Pittsburgh’s Division I men’s and women’s basketball coaches, including the University of Pittsburgh, Robert Morris University, and Duquesne University.

For information about the gala or to make a reservation, contact the American Cancer Society at 1-888-ACS-5445.
