Man allegedly shoots boy, 11, with BB gunMCKEESPORT — Authorities say a man was arrested after an 11-year-old boy was shot in the chest with a BB gun on a Western Pennsylvania playground.Police in Allegheny County allege that 31-year-old Albert Clark of McKeesport approached the boy in the playground of the former George Washington Elementary School on Sunday afternoon and fired twice, hitting the child in the chest.Police said the boy was taken to UPMC McKeesport, where hospital staff said the pellet was lodged in his chest, and later flown to Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh in critical condition.Investigators said Clark said the boy had previously shot his 5-year-old son with a BB gun. He faces charges including aggravated assault and reckless endangerment. Court documents don’t list an attorney who could offer comment on the charges.

Police seek driver in luring attemptPITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh police were trying to find the driver of a pickup truck who reportedly tried to lure two children into the vehicle.Police say two girls, 9 and 10, were playing when the man drove up and tried to get them to get into his vehicle.The girls and their parents say the man is an older white man with a scruffy beard.Police say the man drove off when the girls ran away about 6 p.m. Monday.
