Senator to run for attorney general
HARRISBURG — A fourth-term Republican state senator wants to run for Pennsylvania attorney general in the 2016 election.
Sen. John Rafferty plans to make the formal announcement Wednesday.
Rafferty, of Montgomery County, briefly campaigned for the job ahead of the 2012 election, but stepped aside when then-Gov. Tom Corbett said he was supporting Cumberland County District Attorney David Freed. Freed later lost to Democrat Kathleen Kane.
