Library plans beer presentation

CRANBERRY TWP — Zach Shumaker of ShuBrew brewery will visit Cranberry Public Library, 2525 Rochester Road, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Nov. 4 to discuss beer origins, brewing beer, types of beer and food and beer pairings.

Children’s author to visit Zelienople

ZELIENOPLE — Wacky Wednesday at the Zelienople Public Library, 227 S. High St., will be at 4 p.m. Nov. 5.

Local author and Ellwood City librarian Nancy Wallace will read from one of her books and have a craft for children. Wallace’s books include “The Christmas Cats” and the “Abby and the Book Bunch” series.

A limited number of books will be for sale and for signing.

Concordia holds pre-holiday sale

JEFFERSON TWP — Concordia Lutheran Ministries will host a Christmas show from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Nov. 5 in the Haven I Dining Room, 112 Marwood Road, Entrance 2A.

More than 25 vendors will have wares including handmade jewelry, alpaca products, candy, handmade quilted items, jellies and salsa.

Local author will visit library

SAXONBURG — Local author Carla Mooney will visit the South Butler Community Library, 240 W. Main St., at 4:30 p.m. Nov. 6.

The author will share her experience of writing more than 40 fiction and nonfiction books, and talk about nonfiction writing as a career.

Rimersburg craft show scheduled

RIMERSBURG — “A Christmas Present” will be from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Nov. 6, 7 and 8.

The show will feature handmade crafts and baked goods that will be sold at homes, churches and businesses in Rimersburg. Maps will be available.

All participating sites will be decorated for the holidays. Churches will serve lunch. Admission and parking is free.

Montessori School turns 40

Butler Montessori School will mark its 40th anniversary with a Mass and dinner Nov. 8 at St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, 432 Center Ave. For an invitation and more information, call 724-283-1846.

Group planning ‘Walk of Hope’

The Hope for Broken Hearts support group for families of individuals with drug addictions will have a “Walk of Hope” from 10 a.m. to noon Nov. 8 from Westminster Presbyterian Church, 420 N. Main St., to the Butler County Courthouse. Registration will begin at 9 a.m. at the church.

The walk will highlight the increasing drug use and opioid overdoses in the county.
