Butler Little Theatre is staging a show for four days that was not initially part of its 85th season.

“Pen Pals” will show at the theater Thursday, Oct. 29 through Sunday, Nov. 1, telling the story of an extraordinary friendship between two women — Bernie, from Newark, N.J., who starts writing to Mags, who lives in Sheffield, England, when she’s 14 years old. Their correspondence continues for the next five decades.

The play is written by Michael Griffo and is directed by Jud M. Stewart. The production stars Shirley Ann Minehart, Elizabeth Smith, Jud M. Stewart and Jud D. Stewart.

Showings are at 7:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday and at 2:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Butler Little Theatre, 1 Howard St., Butler. For tickets, visit butlerlittletheatre.com.
