ALTOONA — A Western Pennsylvania priest is on leave while his diocese re-examines allegations of child-sex abuse against him in 2002.

A spokesman for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Altoona-Johnstown said the Rev. Martin Cingle has been removed as pastor of two Somerset County churches, All Saints in Boswell and St. Anne in Davidsville.

Spokesman Tony DeGol said Bishop Mark Bartchak will appoint others to administer those parishes temporarily.

DeGol wouldn't detail the allegation against Cingle who was ordained in 1973 and has served in about a dozen other diocesan parishes before becoming pastor of the Somerset County churches in July 2014.

No criminal charges have been filed against the priest, who could not immediately be located for comment.

The priest hasn't been charged criminally, and state and county prosecutors wouldn't say if the allegations are being investigated.
