PHILADELPHIA — Pennsylvania Attorney General Kathleen Kane was expected to reveal her next step in an investigation into the exchange of pornography and other objectionable content in e-mails by prosecutors, judges and others found on state-owned computers.

Kane planned a news conference today at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia to announce a team of special prosecutors.

She said they’ll review “racist, misogynistic, homophobic and religiously offensive” e-mails.

They’ll be looking for anything that violates the state’s criminal, civil or ethics laws.

Kane’s law license is currently on temporary, indefinite suspension while she awaits trial on charges she leaked secret grand jury material to a newspaper and lied about it.

The state Senate is considering whether to initiate a process to remove the first-term Democrat from office.
