8:22 p.m. June 12 — Malory A. Haugh, 33, of Export, Westmoreland County, was allegedly caught driving a vehicle without an ignition interlock system following a traffic stop on New Castle Road. She is charged with not having the device, which is a misdemeanor.
Police also cited her for driving with a suspected license, driving an unregistered vehicle, driving with suspended registration, failing to surrender license plates, driving a vehicle without valid inspection, and an emission inspection violation.
12:03 p.m. June 17 — Codey L. Smith, 19, of Chicora was allegedly caught with marijuana and other drug contraband following a vehicle wreck on Delwood Road. He is charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Friday — Matthew W. Senopole, 33, of West Sunbury was cited for two counts of trespass after he was allegedly caught on surveillance video at the Butler Commons' Walmart on June 6 and 13.
Police noted that Senopole was previously notified in writing that he was not allowed to be on Walmart property.
Monday — Police filed misdemeanor drug charges against three Butler residents stemming from a traffic stop around 3:30 p.m. April 4 on Fairground Hill Road.
Police said they found suspected crack cocaine and other contraband in the vehicle.
Darrin A. Hutchens, 48, was charged with three counts of possession of a controlled substance, while Steven W. Dunmire, 25, and Karlee Quinn, 22, were both charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.
9:56 p.m. May 28 — Charles D. Straessley Jr., 31, of Evans City was arrested for DUI after his vehicle became disabled on an embankment at Route 68 and Old Route 68 in Forward Township.Police said his blood-alcohol level was found to be at least double’s the state’s 0.08 percent legal limit.Straessley is charged with DUI, disregarding traffic lanes and careless driving.June 6 — Regina A. Robb, 27, of Saxonburg was charged with driving on drugs and alcohol in connection with a crash last month in Jefferson Township. Police said her car struck a utility pole around 2:30 a.m. May 22 along Neupert Road near Winfield Road.Robb is charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, DUI and driving under the influence of a combination of alcohol and drugs, disregarding traffic lanes, and careless driving.1:10 p.m. June 9 — Kurt Esman, 57, of Butler was injured when a car rear-ended the vehicle he was driving on Route 8 just east of Halland Terrace in Center Township. Police said Esman, who was not wearing a seat belt, was taken to an unspecified hospital with apparent minor injuries.The other driver, Wayne J. Spinneweber, 51, of Butler, was cited for driving with a suspended license and following too closely to another vehicle.10:30 a.m. June 9 — A chain-reaction wreck occurred on Route 8 in Center Township when a car driven by Allyson L. Burchett, 22, of East Butler struck the back of a car driven by Renea E. Hilliard, 24, of Worthington.The impact of the crash forced Hilliard’s car into the rear of a pickup truck driven by Timothy R. Barkley, 49, of Butler. No injuries were reported. Police said Burchett faces a ticket for driving at an unsafe speed.June 13 — A 6-foot hot water tank and a crafts bag were stolen during a burglary at a mobile home on Demi Lane in Clay Township. The break-in occurred between 10 p.m. June 12 and 10 a.m. June 13.The stolen property is valued at $300. Police said they have no suspects.June 13 — Police charged Michael P. Stupy, 63, of Wexford with DUI stemming from a traffic stop last month in Butler Township. He was pulled over around 8:50 p.m. May 25 at Greenwood and Independence drives.In addition to DUI, he is charged with speeding, disregarding traffic lanes, careless driving and a seat belt violation.6:48 p.m. June 15 — Anthony L. Maher, 29, of Eau Claire was arrested for DUI in Cherry Township. Police said he was stopped for a vehicle registration violation at Kiester Road and Route 308.Maher is charged with DUI, driving with a suspended license, driving an unregistered vehicle, driving a vehicle without insurance, driving a vehicle without valid inspection, and a seat belt violation.June 17 — Dakota L. Anthony, 18, of Chicora was charged with drugged driving stemming from a traffic stop last month in Fairview Township. He was pulled over around 12:20 a.m. May 25 on the 100 block of Petrolia Street.Anthony is charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, failing to carry his driver’s license, careless driving, failing to use low beams and a seat belt violation.June 17 — Police reported they are investigating the theft of farm equipment on Christie Road in Washington Township. The property was stolen between May 8 and June 8. Anyone with information is asked to call police.11 p.m. Saturday — A car driven by Torin L. Tyson, 24, of Butler struck a deer on Route 422 just west of Pflugh Road in Franklin. Tyson, who was wearing a seat belt, was not hurt, but his car had to be towed.8:45 p.m. Saturday — Matthew S. Young. 24, of Portersville was injured when the car he was driving crashed, rolled over in a ditch, and ended up against a utility pole along Cheeseman Road in Muddy Creek Township.Young, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered unknown injuries. He was taken by ambulance to UPMC Presbyterian hospital. His condition was not available. His car had to be towed. The investigation continues.1:18 a.m. Saturday — Travis Felsing, 25, of Petrolia was arrested for suspicion of DUI after he was pulled over for numerous alleged traffic violations at Fenelton and Clearfield roads in Clearfield Township. Charges are pending.Saturday — An unknown thief smashed the windows of two vehicles parked at the Clearview Mall in Center Township. A wallet with $20 in currency was taken from one of the vehicles.The theft was reported around 6 a.m. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-284-8100.5:35 p.m. Sunday — No one was injured in a three-vehicle, chain-reaction crash on Interstate 79 south in Jackson Township.The wreck occurred when a sport utility vehicle driven by Aubrey M. Redmon, 28, of Girard, Ohio, rear-ended a van driven by Cathy S. Ringer, 55, of Fredonia, Mercer County. The van, following the collision, struck the back of an SUV driven by Sarah M. Peebles, 31, of Bethel Park, Allegheny County.Police cited Redmon for following too closely to another vehicle.2:35 a.m. Sunday — William Bieber, 45, of Prospect was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after a traffic stop at Whitestown and Dick roads in Connoquenessing Township. Charges are pending.1:34 p.m. Sunday — Amy L. Mazur, 40, was injured when she lost control of her SUV and struck a utility pole along Route 68 just south of Bell Avenue in Chicora.Police said Mazur, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered minor injuries. She was cited for disregarding traffic lanes and driving a vehicle without valid inspection.
