HARRISBURG — The state Senate is putting to rest a long-running battle with Democratic Gov. Tom Wolf over who will lead the Pennsylvania State Police.

The Senate unanimously confirmed Tyree Blocker on Wednesday to be the state police commissioner. Blocker’s confirmation comes after majority Republicans voted to reject Wolf’s first nominee, Marcus Brown.

Blocker worked his way up through the ranks over a 30-year state police career.
