STATE COLLEGE — Chill out, Penn State’s famous Berkey Creamery is closing for longer than usual this winter, but only so it will be cooler when it reopens.

The creamery will be improved with new floors and paint, but the biggest improvement will be increasing the freezer space by about 50 percent.

The famous ice cream outlet closes every year during the winter break. This year, it won’t reopen until probably mid-February.
