In 2013, Northwest Savings Bank improved products and services, expanded its service area, made loans to families and businesses and supported its communities.
Northwest launched new products and services to simplify banking and provide more convenience to its customers.
Advances in drilling have opened up the Marcellus, Utica and other unconventional natural gas fields in Pennsylvania and Ohio.
To help landowners as they work with oil and gas companies, Northwest developed Royalty Manager. This connects the uniquely qualified oil and gas experts at Northwest with landowners, leveling the playing field with big oil and gas companies.
Northwest experts assist landowners with the management of their royalty payments, assuring proper payment for the sale of these assets.
In September, Northwest announced an upgrade to its mobile banking apps for iPhone, iPad, Android, Android Tablet and Blackberry. With Northwest’s mobile app, customers can view balances, pay bills, transfer funds, locate Northwest offices and ATMs, customize account preferences, connect through social media, contact customer service and manage business online banking transactions.
Northwest also upgraded its automated teller machines (ATMs) in southwestern Pennsylvania to accept cash and check deposits. This allows customers to make deposits through the ATM, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, without envelopes or deposit slips.
“At Northwest, we want to give our customers even more flexibility to bank when and where they want,” said Ben Jamieson, district manager of the bank. “We are extremely excited about our mobile app upgrades and to bring our new depository ATMs to Butler and surrounding counties.”
In October, the bank opened a community banking office in Zelienople, expanding its community banking network to 29 offices in the greater Pittsburgh region and 165 locations in Pennsylvania, New York, Ohio and Maryland.
In 2013, Northwest donated money and time to support the initiatives of the United Way of Butler County, the Butler County Family YMCA, the YWCA of Butler and the Friends of Zelienople Park, among others. Contributions to these organizations are among the many donations and efforts by Northwest and its employees to support communities last year.
