Covert 50th anniversary

The Coverts in 1957

John and Patricia Covert of Renfrew celebrated 50 years of marriage recently with a family dinner at Garden Gate Restaurant in Prospect. Entertainment was provided by Ralph Pincek, Dan Vorp, the couple's children and grandchildren, and Wayne and Honey Giesler.

The former Patricia Jenkins married Covert on Dec. 31, 1957, at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Sarver.

They have three children, Melanie Gritters of Lakewood, N.Y.; Kurtis Covert of Ephrata; and Kirby Covert of Gerrardstown, W.Va.

They also have six grandchildren.

Covert is a retired federal and state employee. He enjoys singing and playing the guitar with family, writing music and playing 500. A veteran of the Army, he was stationed inKorea.

Mrs. Covert retired from a bookkeeping/office manager position in 2006. She also worked as a bank teller, insurance agent and financial adviser. She enjoys attending her grandchildren's events at church and school, crossword puzzles and playing 500.The Coverts are former members of Calvary Orthodox Presbyterian Church in Harrisville. They currently attend First United Methodist Church in Butler.
