Union/A-C Valley football sputters one week after comeback win, falls to Brockway

RIMERSBURG — Union/A-C Valley football was hoping to pick up where it left off last week when a late touchdown lifted the Falcon Knights to victory over a strong Punxsutawney team.

But it was clear early on in Thursday’s game against Brockway that the momentum had not carried over.

Union/A-C Valley’s offense sputtered, gaining just 35 combined yards on its first four drives, and its defense was knocked onto its heels by a balanced Brockway attack as the Rovers opened up a 20-0 lead en route to a 41-20 win at Vidunas Stadium.

“There may have been a letdown after last week, but that’s no excuse,” Falcon Knights coach Dan Reed said. “Brockway was more prepared than us tonight, and that’s on me.”
