7:01 p.m. Tuesday - A car driven by William Plummer, 76, of Butler Township struck the rear of a car driven by David Reed, 51, of Thornton, Colo., on East Wayne Street. Plummer was cited for driving too fast for conditions.
1:25 a.m. Tuesday - Michael Harter, 34, of Evans City was arrested after allegedly assaulting James Harter, 39, during an altercation at a Buhl Road home in Forward Township. Police did not disclose the relationship of the men. Michael Harter was arraigned on simple assault charges and placed in the Butler County Prison in lieu of $5,000 bond.Tuesday - A Pioneer stereo and compact disc player, 45 CDs and checks were taken between 10 p.m. Monday and 9 a.m. Tuesday from a car at the Mitchell Hill Road home of Justin Pyle in Summit Township.9:45 a.m. Dec. 26 - A mini-van driven by Tina Neuard, 34, of Saegertown, Crawford County, skidded on ice-covered Interstate 79 in Jackson Township and struck an unoccupied car on the side of the road. Kayla Neuard, 16, of Saegertown, a passenger in the van, suffered minor injuries.
Tuesday - Police are investigating the theft of three vehicles in Barkeyville and Clintonville, Venango County, between 9:30 p.m. Monday and 6:30 a.m. Tuesday.An Oldsmobile Bravada was stolen from Youngstown, Ohio, and later recovered by police at Fowler Auto Sales at Routes 8 and 208 in Barkeyville. A Chevrolet Monte Carlo, owned by Boyce Auto Sales of Prospect, stolen from Fowler Auto Sales was later found at Wetzel Auto Sales in Clintonville.Meanwhile, a Buick LeSabre, stolen from a Clintonville home, has not been recovered.
