3:40 p.m. Tuesday - Richard Burkholder, 73, of Mercer was seriously injured when his car crashed into a ditch along Interstate 79 in Worth Township. Police said Burkholder, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered an undisclosed medical ailment at the time of the crash.No other information about the crash or Burkholder's condition was available this morning.5:47 p.m. Monday - A car driven by Linda Lentz, 66, of Slippery Rock struck the rear of another vehicle, setting off a four-vehicle, chain-reaction crash on Route 8 in Clay Township.Police said Lentz's car, traveling about 50 mph, struck a car driven by Darnell Avent, 24, of Pittsburgh. The crash forced Avent's vehicle into the rear of a sport utility vehicle driven by Joyce Wagner, 35, of Slippery Rock. Wagner's vehicle, in turn, was pushed into the rear of a car driven by Susan Rockburn, 39, of Harrisville.All drivers and a 9-year-old Slippery Rock girl riding in Lentz's car were wearing seat belts. None of the occupants required medical treatment for any injuries. Lentz was cited for careless driving.1:49 p.m. Monday - A car driven by Ervin Werner, 67, of Butler and a pickup truck driven by Michael Freedline, 39, of Karns City collided on Pine Tract Road in Center Township. Werner, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered moderate injuries.Monday - Shelly Bellew reported that between 11 p.m. Sunday and 11 a.m. Monday someone broke in a vehicle at her Cupps Road home in Connoquenessing Township. Taken was $40, 12 compact discs, a Craftsmen tool set and a Panasonic camcorder.

9 p.m. Saturday - James Procz Jr., 23, of Karns City was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after her car struck another car driven by Heather Powers, 28, of Chicora on Route 68 in Bradys Bend Township, Armstrong County. Both drivers, who wore seat belts, suffered minor injuries.
