Thursday - Someone broke into a second-floor Bessemer Avenue apartment between July 2 and Thursday and took a Sony DVD player and a Sony radio.Police suspect a ladder was used in the burglary. It was not known if more than one burglar committed the crime. Anyone with information in the case is asked to call police at 724-285-9600.

4:35 p.m. Tuesday - A 22-year-old Slippery Rock woman, whom police did not identify, was arrested after allegedly found with suspected Clonazepam pills on Route 8 in Center Township. Police said the woman illegally possessed the prescription tranquilizer.9:20 a.m. Tuesday - A stranded thief made off with a can of gas after his pickup truck ran out of fuel on Browns Mill Road in Forward Township.Police said the unknown suspect, described as a white man in his 20s, ran out of gas in front of a home on Browns Mill Road. The man, driving an unidentified black Ford truck, went to the house and snatched up a plastic can that contained about 3 gallons of gas. Moments later he drove off heading north on Browns Mill Road.Tuesday - Several undisclosed items were taken in a burglary between June 1 and Tuesday at a Hoot Owl Road camp in Forward Township. Robert Geisler of McKees Rocks, Allegheny County owns the stolen property.June 30 - Police said William Ridenbaugh, 46, and Theresa Glatfelter, 33, both of Parker were arrested for allegedly assisting a 13-year-old girl in running away from home without notifying the girl's parents. The couple is charged with interference with the custody of a child and corruption of minors.
