10:54 a.m. Thursday - Daniel Seitz Jr., 28, of Butler was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia with the intent to use after police were called by Butler County Adult Probation officers, who reported finding two syringes, three spoons with residue and a silver pipe with residue in Seitz's residence at 313 Virginia Ave.4:12 a.m. Friday - John Danella, 40, was taken to Butler County Prison on a bench warrant from the county after police responded to a domestic call at a West Wayne Street address. Although Danella was staying at the residence, he doesn't have a known address.9:28 p.m. Thursday - Darryl Brown, 54, reported the theft of a $100 BMW key from his gym bag while at the YMCA on North Washington Street.

5 p.m. Thursday - A car driven by Daniel Toomey, 37, of Butler and a van driven by Michael P. Omstead, 36, of Butler collided on Eagle Mill Road near Eagle Ridge Lane in Connoquenessing Township. Toomey's car was traveling northbound when it crossed over the center line and struck Omstead's van, which was southbound. Toomey told police he fell asleep while driving. Toomey was charged with careless driving and not driving on the right side of the roadway. Neither driver was injured. Both were wearing seat belts.4:40 p.m. Thursday - Lawrence Durnell, 49, of Portersville reported a hit-and-run accident in which a dark green vehicle, which was eastbound on Route 108 in Worth Township, crossed the centerline and sideswiped Durnell's truck, which was westbound. Durnell, who was wearing a seat belt, wasn't injured.4:54 p.m. Thursday - A dirt bike driven by a male juvenile struck the rear of a car driven by James Cottrill Jr. of Butler on Euclid Road in Clay Township. The juvenile, who wasn't wearing a helmet, was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. Cottrill, who was wearing a seatbelt, wasn't injured. Numerous traffic citations are pending against the juvenile.Monday - Georgis Horner of Parker reported the theft of $4,200 worth of antique furniture and glassware from her Bruin Queenstown Road residence between 9 a.m. July 5 and 3 p.m. Monday. Anyone with information about the burglary should call state police at 724-284-8100.July 6 - Florence Jaksec, 58, of Butler reported a case of identity theft in which an unknown person removed $2,600 from her checking account. The transactions were made in California.

8:23 p.m. Wednesday - Seyfettin Ozbay, 24, and Ufuk Kus, 25, both of Turkey were taken into custody for being illegal immigrants after a traffic stop on Interstate 80 eastbound in Wolf Creek Township, Mercer County. Ozbay was incarcerated in Lawrence County Prison. Kus was released.2:18 a.m. Wednesday - Troopers seized a large stash of counterfeit merchandise in a vehicle following a traffic stop on Interstate 80 in Wolf Creek Township.Among the bogus wares were purses, jerseys, shoes, jeans, shirts and jewelry containing the trade names of numerous companies. A pair of men from Indianapolis face trademark counterfeiting charges in the case.

June 19 - A window at the home of Paul Baseler on Spring Street was broken by a rock during the night. A damage cost was not known.July 2 - Benjamin Campbell, 19, of Slippery Rock was arrested and charged for driving under the influence, being a minor and underage drinking, and defiant trespass for being in Memorial Park after hours following a traffic stop on Spring Street. Kyle Gercken, 18, of Slippery Rock, a passenger in the car, was cited for underage consumption of alcohol.2:36 a.m. July 3 - Connie Sue Breese, 44, of Grove City was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and a red-light violation following a traffic stop at Liberty Street and East Main Street.8:40 p.m. July 8 - An unknown man entered a Spring Street home while the family was inside. After the family stopped him, he fled. The man is described as 6 feet tall, stocky build, long brown hair, and wearing a blue baseball cap, gray T-shirt and blue jeans. Police are investigating.4 p.m. Sunday - Gregory Scott McCarty, 23, of Mercer was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana and public drunkenness on West Main Street. There was also a bench warrant for McCarty in Clarion County. McCarty is in Mercer County jail pending court action.Monday - Charges of simple assault and reckless endangerment were filed against Robert Greene, 24, currently in the Venango County Jail, and Chad Garland, 21, of Grove City following an investigation into a August 2004 fight at 302 N. Center St. that resulted in a 2-year-old suffering a broken leg.Tuesday - Items were taken between 11 a.m. and 6:15 p.m. from the room of Lance Taylor of Covington, N.Y., who was staying at the Park Motel.
