6:30 p.m. Tuesday - Christopher Jones, 19, of Butler suffered minor injuries after another vehicle forced his car off East Butler Road in Summit Township. Jones' car traveled down an embankment and struck a utility pole.Police said the crash occurred when an unidentified car traveling north on East Butler Road tried to pass another vehicle and forced Jones' southbound car off the west berm and down the embankment.The unidentified car proceeded north on the road and did not stop. Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call the barracks at 724-284-8100.
3:30 p.m. Saturday - Jamie Painter, 27, was arrested for allegedly assaulting his ex-wife at his Kellys Way home in East Brady, Clarion County.Police said Nina McIntyre, 24, of Sligo had gone to Painter's house to drop off the couple's children when the two began to argue. Painter is accused of choking his wife and pushing her down a flight of three steps.McIntyre, who has a court-issued protection from abuse order against the defendant, suffered unknown injuries. Painter is charged with simple assault, reckless endangerment, harassment and indirect criminal contempt. He was arraigned on charges and placed in the Clarion County Jail in lieu of $2,500 bond.
10:45 p.m. Monday - Lawrence Cousins, 40, of Kittanning was arrested for allegedly breaking into a house on Graham Road in Kittanning Township, Armstrong County, punching out the homeowner and stealing his car.Cousins later drove the car into shrubbery, a gas meter and wooden fence along Graham, police said. Troopers arrested Cousins after he allegedly returned to Gary Stewart's home before driving off and leading police on a brief chase.Police did not immediately indicate why Cousins assaulted the 40-year-old Stewart.Cousins is charged with driving under the influence, theft of a motor vehicle, simple assault, accidents involving damage to unattended property, and fleeing or attempting to elude police. He is being held in the Armstrong County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bond.
