4:58 a.m. Friday - Stephen Kurtz, 25, of Butler is charged with simple assault after police were called to his residence at 36 Hickory St. Kurtz is accused of assaulting his girlfriend Erin Carrara, 20. She told police that she is pregnant and is due in two weeks. Kurtz was placed in Butler County Prison in lieu of $2,500 bond.9:34 a.m. Wednesday - Robert Zulick, 50, of Butler is charged with simple assault and making terroristic threats after allegedly threatening his adult son, whose age is unknown, with a knife and a hammer. The son was living in the same residence at the time. Zulick was jailed in Butler County Prison in lieu of $10,000 bond.
Tuesday - A burglary was reported at 172 Thorn Run Road in Butler. The unknown burglar gained access to the residence between Aug. 7 and Tuesday by prying open the main entrance door. No items were taken.9 a.m. Sept. 2 - Police investigated the vandalism of several picnic tables and the pavilion roof at the Chicora Borough Park that occurred between 3 p.m. Sept. 1 and 9 a.m. Sept. 2.
12:30 a.m. Friday - A car driven by Lori Lynn Knox, 36, of Sarver was southbound on Route 28 in East Deer Township when it drifted toward the berm, where a broken-down vehicle was parked. Knox's vehicle spun around and struck a guardrail. She wasn't injured. Her car had moderate damage.
11:55 a.m. Friday - A motorcycle driven by Steven Sheesman, 44, of Chicora was traveling west on Route 68 near the village of Reidsburg in Monroe Township when it failed to make a turn, left the road and hit a guardrail. Sheesman was taken to Clarion Hospital by ambulance before being flown by helicopter to UPMC Presbyterian hospital, where he was listed in critical condition Saturday morning. He was wearing a helmet. The Clarion Volunteer Fire Department and passing motorists assisted police at the scene.
