Thursday — A large amount of copper wiring and 4-inch copper tubing was reported stolen in a burglary at a former Pullman office building on Hansen Avenue. The break-in occurred within the past month. Chris Gatto of Butler owns the stolen property, valued at $4,500.
Wednesday — Someone between 11 p.m. and midnight shot and killed a horse at 170 Welter Road in Oakland Township. Timothy Welter of Butler owns the horse.Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call the barracks at 724-284-8100.Wednesday — A 16-inch Husqvarna chainsaw was stolen between 2 and 2:10 p.m. from the front yard at the Franklin Oaks Drive home of David Hemshrodt inFranklin Township.Wednesday — Police are investigating a theft case in which a Crawford County man lost his $1,100 deposit to participate in a wild pig hunt in Allegheny Township.Lawrence Hergenroeder told police that on May 14 he provided the owner of the former hunting preserve on Foxburg Road with money for the deposit; however, some time later Hergenroeder learned that the farm was out of business and that the bank had foreclosed on the property.Police did not identify the former property owner who faces theft charges.Wednesday — Andrew Phipps reported that a .357 magnum Dan Wesson pistol was taken between June 2004 and May from his County Line Road home in Mercer Township.
May 21 — Eric J. Elder, 19, of Bethel, Vt., was arrested for driving under the influence after his vehicle struck a telephone pole on South Center Street. Neither Elder nor his passengers, Ellie J. Richardson, 18, of Bethel and Nathan A. Stowe, 20, of Harrisville, were injured.
