3:45 a.m. today — A car driven by Tamara Cox, 36, of Renfrew struck a utility pole at Route 38 and West Third Street in Eau Claire. Cox, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken with minor injuries to Butler Memorial Hospital.8:15 a.m. Tuesday — Vehicles driven by Shawn Polonchak, 35, of Polk, Venango County, and Jamie McVicker, 30, of New Castle collided on Route 108 in Slippery Rock Township. Polonchak suffered moderate injuries, and McVicker suffered minor injuries. Both were wearing seat belts.9:40 a.m. Monday — Cars driven by Nancy Weber, 46, of Chicora and David Rusek, 46, of Amherst, N.Y., collided on Route 422 at the Interstate 79 North ramp in Muddy Creek Township. Both vehicles then struck a tractor-trailer stopped at a stop sign.Weber, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered minor injuries. She was cited for making an illegal left turn. Arnold Fox, 43, of Hopeland, Lancaster County, was driving the tractor-trailer.

Tuesday — Several newspaper vending boxes were vandalized and a car ransacked in an overnight theft spree on and near New Castle Road.Three newspaper machines at Butler Commons businesses and another machine at Butler Hut 2 were broken into, with the locks cut and money from the coin boxes stolen.Money was also taken from the glove box of an unlocked car on Boyd Drive.The theft spree occurred between 10 p.m. Monday and 6 a.m. Tuesday. Anyone with information about the thefts is asked to call township police at 724-285-9600, or call 911.Tuesday — Steven Schweiger, 47, of Emlenton was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Route 8.
