9:38 a.m. Wednesday — Albert Johnson, 42, of Butler Township was arrested for allegedly assaulting his live-in girlfriend, Michelle Kaiser, 35, while the two were traveling in a car on West Cunningham Street. Johnson is charged with simple assault.12:20 a.m. Wednesday — A14-year-old boy, who authorities did not identify, is accused of threatening his father with a sword during a domestic dispute at their West Jefferson Street home.The father, police said, was upset that the boy was staying out late, drinking and smoking marijuana. When officers got to the home, they found the boy had been drinking.He is charged in juvenile court with simple assault and underage drinking.11:58 a.m. Tuesday — George Martin Jr., 28, of Butler was arrested and charged with violating a protection from abuse order after he went to the Shore Street home of Sara Martin, 22, and threatened to take the couple's children.
3:25 p.m. Wednesday — Brian Best, 23, of Beaver, Beaver County, swerved his car to avoid a sport utility vehicle, and struck a utility pole along Route 356 near Winfield Road in Winfield Township. Best, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered unknown injuries. Harold Meyers, 38, of Cabot was driving the car.Tuesday — Police are investigating separate theft cases in which golf carts were stolen this week.One vehicle, a cream colored Yamaha golf cart with chrome hub caps and a roof, was taken from the Reiber Road home of Robert Sedoris in Connoquenessing Township. The cart, valued at $2,000, was taken between Friday and Tuesday.The other cart was taken between 3 and 3:15 a.m. Sunday from the Moraine Campground on Staff Woad in Brady Township. Richard Maisel of Turtle Creek, Allegheny County, owns the cart.6:35 p.m. Monday — A car driven by Charles Adams, 23, of Wilkes-Barre and a pickup truck driven by Daniel Watters, 20, of East Butler collided at Route 422 and Old Route 422 in Summit Township.Monday — A Marion Township woman lost an undisclosed amount of money in a phony international lottery scam.The 58-year-old woman was called by an unknown man clamming to represent a Jamaican bank. He claimed she had won the lottery and told her to she had to wire funds to cover transfer frees.Police said the woman wired the money but never receiving any of the promised winnings.10:20 a.m. Sunday — A sport utility vehicle driven by Jean Shumway, 41, of Slippery Rock and a pickup truck driven by Bernard Heinlein, 71, of Kennerdell, Venango County, collided on the Interstate 79 on-ramp in Worth Township. Heinlein, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered minor injuries.2:23 p.m. Saturday — Cars driven by Nicole Burlbaugh, 17, of Saxonburg and Noel Mulcaster, 61, of Ontario, Canada, collided at Route 422 and the Interstate 79 on-ramp in Muddy Creek Township.Burlbaugh, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered minor injuries. Apassenger in Mulcaster's car, Arnold Mulcaster, 58, of Ontario, suffered unknown injuries. He was wearing a seat belt.9:48 p.m. July 12 — E. Ernest Grochalski Jr., 38, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Route 488 near I-79 in Muddy Creek Township.
