9:54 a.m. Monday — Vehicles driven by Jesse Gardner, 32, of Chicora and Howard Graham, 76, of Butler collided at the intersection of Jefferson and Wagner streets. Gardner was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for treatment of unknown injuries.
3:40 p.m. Friday — A car driven by William Bertoncello of Slippery Rock struck the rear of a car driven by Susanne Pape of New Castle that was stopped in traffic on Route 8 in Center Township. Bertoncello was cited for a traffic violation.1:30 a.m. Friday — A car driven by Andrzej Swierkosz of Ontario, Canada, was traveling on Interstate 79 in Muddy Creek Township when it struck a guardrail and rolled over an embankment. The driver was wearing a seat belt and was not injured. The accident was caused when the driver fell asleep.Friday — Robert Rodgers of East Butler reported the theft of his unlocked vehicle while it was parked at 1019 Madison Ave. between 10 p.m. Thursday and 7 a.m. Friday. Anyone with information about the theft should call police at 724-284-8100.Friday — Tracey Minton of East Butler reported the theft of several small items from her unlocked vehicle while it was parked at 129 9th St. between 1 and 7 a.m. The thief also wrote on the vehicle with bingo marking paint and smashed several nearby pumpkins. Anyone with information about the incident should call police at 724-284-8100.10:50 p.m. Thursday — A vehicle driven by Patricia Ceranski, 33, of Stoneboro struck a guardrail on Interstate 79 in Muddy Creek Township. She was wearing a seat belt and was not injured.10:50 p.m. Thursday — Claudia Ann Nicholas, 46, of Valencia was charged with driving under the influence after being stopped for an equipment violation on Route 228 in Adams Township.8:30 p.m. Thursday — A car driven by a 17-year-old Evans City female struck a guardrail on Prospect Road in Forward Township. The girl was not wearing a seat belt and received minor injuries. The Harmony Volunteer Fire Company assisted police.8:09 p.m. Thursday — Cars driven by Jerry Calahan, 83, of New Castle and Sandra Snyder, 58, of Harrisville collided at the intersection of Routes 108 and 8 in Slippery Rock Township. Snyder's passenger, Gary Snyder, 61, also of Harrisville, who was not wearing a seat belt, received minor injuries. Neither Sandra Snyder, who was not wearing a seat belt, nor Callahan, who was wearing a seat belt, was injured. Callahan was cited for a stop sign violation.8 p.m. Thursday — Alan M. Palmer, 18, of Parker was charged with two counts of burglary, two counts of theft by unlawful taking and two counts of receiving stolen property after allegedly stealing copper wire, copper plumbing pipes and copper radiators from the property of William Lowe, 57, at 1260 Branchton Road in West Sunbury at 9 p.m. Oct. 2 and 10 p.m. Oct. 9. Palmer was arraigned and released on bail.2 p.m. Thursday — David Perri, 46, of Connoquenessing Township was arrested for simple assault and harassment following an alleged altercation with Maria McKay, 35, at 108 Hoffman Lane.4:43 p.m. Wednesday — A car driven by Gesa Everly, 36, of Chicora and an SUV driven by Jodi Wokutch-Leung, 25, of Butler collided at the intersection of Unionville and Election House roads. The impact sent the SUV into a telephone pole. Both drivers were wearing seat belts and were not injured. Everly told police she lost her brakes while attempting to stop at a stop sign on Election House Road, leading to the collision. The Portersville Volunteer Fire Company assisted police with traffic control.2:38 p.m. Wednesday — A vehicle driven by Susan Gallagher, 45, of Evans City struck a tree off Browns Mill Road in Forward Township. She was wearing a seat belt and was not injured.
5:30 p.m. Sept. 26 — A tall, thin white man in his early to mid-20s was seen leaving the second floor window of a cottage in Springfield Township owned by Dennis Bunday, 64, of Ohio. No items were reported missing. A metal hinge lock on the window was damaged. The burglar was wearing camouflage pants, a black sweatshirt and a mesh head net.
5:25 p.m. Friday — A vehicle driven by Derek McCracken, 26, of Slippery Rock was traveling on Route 388 in Shenango Township when it struck a utility pole. He was wearing a seat belt and was not injured. McCracken was cited for not driving a vehicle at a safe speed.
