3 a.m. Sunday — Earl Wayne Foust, 53, of Prospect was charged with simple assault following a domestic dispute at 114 Grindel Road. Foust is accused of striking Lenora J. Lowers, 37, in the leg three times. Foust was jailed in Butler County Prison on $5,000 straight bond.8:50 p.m. Saturday — A vehicle driven by Jacob McNany, 19, of Chicora and a vehicle driven by Ricky Switzer, 50, of Bruin collided at the intersection of Route 68 and the Route 422 ramp in Summit Township. No injuries were reported. McNany was cited for vehicles turning left.11:45 p.m. Friday — A car driven by Raymond Vukson, 40, of Portersville struck an embankment on Interstate 79 in Cranberry Township. Vukson was wearing a seat belt and was not injured. Police cited speed as the cause of the accident.8:20 p.m. Friday — A car driven by Karen Waybright, 55, of Harrisville struck a guardrail on Interstate 79 in Jackson Township. Waybright was wearing a seat belt and was not injured. She told police the accident occurred when she swerved to avoid a deer.6:47 p.m. Friday — A car driven by Herbert L. Sleigher, 29, of Jefferson Township struck a truck parked in a Saxonburg Road driveway in Jefferson Township before fleeing the scene. He was not injured. Sleigher was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, driving while operating privilege is suspended, stop signs and yield signs, careless driving, reckless driving and accidents involving damage to unattended vehicle or property. Penn Township and Saxonburg police assisted state police at the scene.5:40 p.m. Friday — A car driven by Frederick Smith, 64, of Worthington struck a deer on Route 68 in Forward Township. Smith was wearing a seat belt and was not injured.12 p.m. Friday — Two men stole an unspecified amount of money and a social security check from the residence of Iris Hackathorn at 322 E. Cooper St. in Slippery Rock. While one man distracted Hackathorn by claiming to be from a landscaping company, the second took the money and check before fleeing in a cream van. Anyone with information about the incident should call police at 724-284-8100.3 a.m. Friday — A vehicle driven by Jill Troutman, 37, of Petrolia struck several trees on Petrolia Road. Troutman, who was wearing a seat belt, went to a hospital for treatment of unknown injuries before reporting the accident. She was cited for a driving violation and not immediately notifying police.Friday — Someone smashed out the back window of Shenan Spisak's SUV while it was parked at 307 Tricia Lane in Center Township between 5 p.m. Thursday and noon Friday. Anyone with information about the incident should call police at 724-285-3863.Saturday — Someone cut the lock to the main gate at Portersville Storage and six locks to storage units, stealing four fishing poles from one unit, between 3 p.m. Thursday and 8:30 a.m. Saturday.Thursday — Someone stole two lawn ornaments of miniature Dutch people worth $50 from Archie Jamison's lawn at 119 Boomerang Road in Harrisville. Anyone with information about the theft should call police at 724-284-8100.
6:22 p.m. Sunday — A vehicle driven by Debora Altman, 43, of Grove City hit a deer on Route 62 in East Lackawannock Township. No injuries were reported.Tuesday — Someone stole a purse from an unlocked vehicle parked at 1226 Perry Highway in Springfield Township between 11:45 a.m. and 1 p.m.
