Thursday — Denise Manning reported someone stole seven lighted candy canes, worth a total of $21, from her yard at 28 Thomas Ave. overnight.10:48 p.m. Sunday — Dante Dixon, 26, of Butler was charged with making terroristic threats, simple assault and harassment after allegedly grabbing an 18-year-old city woman by the throat and pushing her against a wall, over a chair and to the floor before threatening to pistol whip her with an air pistol in his residence at 503½ W. New Castle St. Police did not release the name of the woman, who was visiting the residence. Although she only received minor injuries, she told police she was afraid of being seriously hurt.

10 p.m. Thursday — A car driven by Lisa Simich, 47, of Grove City spun on a snow-covered Route 58 in Findley Township and went into a ditch. She was wearing a seat belt and was not injured. Simich was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.

8 a.m. Friday — An SUV driven by William Simpson, 19, of Karns City and a car driven by Richard McAnna, 53, of Kittanning collided on Kittanning Hollow Road in Sugarcreek Township. Police report Simpson's vehicle lost control on the snow-covered road and crossed into oncoming traffic, leading to the accident.Thursday — Someone broke into the residence of Ralph Brown, 34, of Karns City at 267 Route 68 in Bradys Bend Township and stole a decorated Christmas tree worth $40 between 1 and 9 a.m.
