Saturday — An unknown driver of a tractor truck struck a car parked on Brown Avenue and did not stop. A witness told police the hit-and-run occurred between 11:30 a.m. and noon. Amber Crowe of Butler owns the car.
5:50 p.m. Tuesday — A car driven by Amy Schuett, 32, of Wexford struck the rear of another car on Interstate 79 at the Route 228 off-ramp in Cranberry Township. Police cited Schuett for following too closely to another vehicle.11:25 p.m. Sunday — Apickup truck driven by Jeremy Brinkley, 20, of Coraopolis, Allegheny County, crashed into an embankment and rolled onto its roof on Route 173 near Kelly Boulevard in Slippery Rock Township. Police cited Brinkley for several undisclosed traffic violations.2:40 a.m. Sunday — Brian Meehan, 19, of Slippery Rock was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Kiester Road at Slippery Rock University's main entrance in Slippery Rock Township. Police had stopped Meehan in connection with a disturbance at the South Rock apartment complex.5:12 p.m. Sept. 23 — Someone broke into a camp on Irwin Road in Clearfield Township; however, the burglary alarm activated and apparently scared off the unknown intruder. Nothing was reported taken.10:55 p.m. Sept. 22 — ABruin teenager was hurt when his car crashed into a chain-link fence, traveled down an embankment and rolled onto its roof in a field along Route 2368 in Bruin. Police said the driver, Raymond Emery, 17, was wearing a seat belt and suffered minor injuries.
12:30 p.m. Tuesday — Police are seeking two boys who escaped from the George Junior Republic juvenile detention facility in Pine Township, Mercer County.The boys, described only as black, were last seen in the Pine Township/Grove City area.A third boy tried to escape with the others but was caught by the facility's staff.Tuesday — Four people, including two children, were injured in a head-on collision in Grove City, Mercer County.Police said the crash occurred when a sport utility vehicle driven by Cynthia Johnson, 53, of Grove City and Donald Drozynski, 47, of Stoneboro collided on Route 208 in front of Seiver's Market.Both drivers and two passengers in the SUV, a 7-year-old boy and a 14-year-old boy, were treated for minor injuries at Grove City Medical Center.
