10:52 p.m. Saturday — Brian Kumpfmiller, 31, of Summit Township was arrested for driving under the influence on Kittanning Street. Police said Kumpfmiller was also cited for possession of a small amount of marijuana and a stop sign violation.5:25 a.m. Friday — John Strellec, 47, of Tarentum, Allegheny County, was arrested for DUI on South Main Street. Police said Strellec was also cited for a traffic signal violation.

12:15 p.m. Sunday — A car driven by Adam Kennerdell, 18, of Freeport struck the rear of another car on Route 356 in Jefferson Township. Police said Kennerdell was cited for careless driving. Chad Sicari, 21, of Export, Westmoreland County was driving the car that was struck from behind.11:22 a.m. Sunday — Two Westmoreland County motorcyclists were injured in a three-vehicle crash on Route 19 in Portersville.Police said the crash occurred when a car driven by Cory Chamberlain, 26, of Zelienople, turning into the First National Bank, struck the side of a motorcycle driven by Robert Cheripka, 54, of Murrysville.A second cycle driven by Patricia Cheripka, 54, of Murrysville, struck the side of the car as she tried to avoid crashing into the first bike that she was traveling behind.Robert Cheripka was flown by medical helicopter with unknown injuries to Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh; his condition was not known this morning. Patricia Cheripka suffered minor injuries.The relationship between the two cyclists was not immediately known; police did not say if either was wearing a helmet.Police said Chamberlain was cited for making an illegal left turn.7:30 p.m. Saturday — A 17-year-old boy, who police did not identify, faces retail theft charges after he was spotted trying to shoplift $120 in jewelry at the Boscov's store in Clearview Mall in Center Township.2:30 p.m. Saturday — Russell W. Walker, 49, of Kittanning is accused of violating a protection from abuse order by contacting 46-year-old Antoniette Walker at her home in Butler County.10:51 a.m. Saturday — A pickup truck driven by James Stewart, 30, of Butler collided with a car on Route 8 at the Clearview Mall in Center Township.Police said Stacie Cooper, 34, of Butler, a passenger in the car driven by Jeffrey Cooper, 34, of Butler, was treated for minor injuries at Butler Memorial Hospital. Stewart was cited for making an illegal left turn and for not wearing a seat belt.2:10 a.m. Saturday — An unknown driver in an unidentified vehicle struck a car and a car port, and did not stop following the crash at the Slater Road home of Sherri Freiters in Allegheny Township.Saturday — An unknown thief between midnight and 6 a.m. stole four inflatable Halloween decorations valued at $250 from the Mahood Road home of Ada Rumburg in Center Township.Thursday — A stolen Saturn SL1 was found burned on Route 183 near Route 38 in Washington Township.The car, owned by Mark Ellis of Parker, was stolen sometime between Wednesday night and early Thursday morning from a Kittanning Pike home in Parker Township.Oct. 1 — A 42-inch television, valued at $1,500, was taken from a moving van at Hindman moving and Storage in Connoquenessing Township. The theft occurred between Sept. 28 and Oct. 1.Police said the TV was taken from a load that originated in Pittsburgh and was headed to North Carolina.

5:42 p.m. Saturday — An Emlenton man faces felony assault and driving under the influence after leading police on a chase in Armstrong County.Troopers ended the several-mile chase after ramming the suspect's car at Butler and Walkchalk roads in East Franklin Township.Police said Samuel Rodger McElroy, 40, had to be forcibly taken into custody after failing to surrender. McElroy was taken to the Kittanning barracks where apolice drug recognition expert found him to be impaired.McElroy is charged with aggravated assault, DUI and fleeing or attempting to elude police.

10:50 a.m. Sunday — A car driven by Avtar Singh, 51, of Cranberry Township struck an embankment on Route 965, about one mile west of Route 173, in Worth Township, Mercer County. Singh told police that the crash occurred when he swerved his car to avoid an animal on the road.
