12:10 a.m. Thursday — A minivan driven by Barry Nelson Jr., 36, of Butler drifted from New Castle Road into the oncoming traffic lane on Greenwood Drive, nearly colliding with a township police car.Thursday — Vehicles driven by Clifford Cuddy of Ford City and by Santa Vaghetto of Glenshaw collided at the intersection of Route 8 and Litman Road.

10:30 p.m. Friday — A vehicle driven by Chad Kenneth Smith, 23, of Chicora went off a curve on Route 68 in Fairview Township and rolled onto its side. Smith had minor head injuries and was wearing a seat belt. He was cited for not driving at a safe speed.Friday — Someone stole an iPod from the unlocked vehicle of Zach Dominic Debacco, 18, of Chicora when it was parked at Moniteau High School in Cherry Township between 7:20 and 9:30 p.m. Anyone with information should call police at 724-284-8100.12:49 a.m. Friday — Holly M. Bailey, 24, of Butler was cited for harassment following a domestic dispute at 160 N. Benbrook Road, Center Township.11:15 p.m. Thursday — Richard Jones, 33, of Butler was charged with simple assault following a physical altercation at 102 Margate Drive in Center Township.9:30 a.m. Thursday — Vehicles driven by Dylan R. Snyder, 22, of Harrisville and Daniel M. Swanson, 29, of East Brady collided on Kiester Road at the main entrance to Slippery Rock University, Slippery Rock Township. Both drivers were wearing seat belts and were not injured.6:40 a.m. Thursday — A vehicle driven by John Krystek, 57, of Hilliards collided with a vehicle driven by Ida Grills, 48, of Slippery Rock and a vehicle driven by William Montgomery, 29, of Crawfordville, Fla., on Route 108 near Crocker Road, Slippery Rock Township. Grills had minor injuries. Krystek and Montgomery were not injured. All three drivers were wearing seat belts.3:45 p.m. Oct 4. — Danny Richard Thompson, 25, of Butler was charged with theft by deception, retail theft, criminal attempt and forgery after allegedly attempting to buy a vehicle at JR's Truck and Auto on New Castle Road in Franklin Township with a fraudulent cashier's check. Thompson is accused of writing fictitious checks with the heading of State Capitol Credit Union between Sept. 25 and Oct. 4. Anyone with information or aware of a similar incident should call police at 724-284-8100.

Friday — Someone broke into a camp owned by Dennis Walz of Pittsburgh at 1484 Kennerdell Road in Clinton Township, stealing two axes between 8 a.m. Oct. 7 and 1 p.m. Oct. 12.

4 p.m. Oct. 5 — Vehicles driven by Kenneth E. Burns, 43, of Ellwood City and Jennifer Hope Carothers, 22, of West Middlesex collided on Route 488 near Meadowland Avenue, Perry Township. Burns was wearing a seat belt and had minor injuries. Carothers and her passenger Brendan J. Hodge, 23, of Kent, Ohio were wearing seat belts and were not injured. An infant in the vehicle was in a child seat and was not injured.Oct. 5 — Someone stole three checks from the residence of Joseph Michael DeMatteo at 194 DeMatteo Lane in Slippery Rock Township and cashed them between Sept. 1 and Oct. 5. Police are investigating.
