Pennsylvania Game Commission officials named a Fenelton native and Karns City High School graduate as a new state game warden for eastern Venango County.
Ethan Beale graduated from the Ross Leffler School of Conservation on Feb. 23 after about a year in the program, according to a news release. He now lives in Emlenton.
The school’s claim to history is its place as the first conservation training school in the world. It was formerly located in Jefferson County and opened in 1932. Today, the school operates in Dauphin County.
Beale is a member of its 31st class. He’s one of 27 new game wardens, according to the state game commission.
Game wardens oversee about 350 square miles each.

LONDON — British Prime Minister Theresa May conceded Monday that her twice-rejected Brexit divorce deal would be defeated by Parliament again if she put it to a new vote, though she said she still hopes to change lawmakers’ minds and get the agreement approved.
May also acknowledged that she may be about to lose control of the Brexit process to lawmakers who want to force the government to change direction.
“It is with great regret that I have had to conclude that as things stand, there is still not sufficient support in the House to bring back the deal for a third meaningful vote,” May told lawmakers in the House of Commons.
She said she will “continue to have discussions with colleagues across this House to build support” and hoped to hold the vote later this week.
Meanwhile, pro-EU lawmakers plan to try to seize control of the process by holding a series of votes on alternatives to May’s deal.
