Tuesday — Police are warning people about an e-mail hoax circulating in Pennsylvania claiming that stolen license plates are being used in gasoline thefts.An advisory reported versions of the e-mail forwarded to state police by citizens claim that if your license plate is missing, the plate is being used on another vehicle in drive-off gasoline thefts.The e-mail indicates the plate owner could be held responsible for the theft.Police said the department did not generate this message and suggests anyone who receives such an e-mail, delete the messages rather than forwarding it to others.
11:10 a.m. Tuesday — A car driven by Jenna Martin, 21, of Port Allegany and a pickup truck driven by Ricky Felix, 51, of Emlenton collided on Route 322 in Paint Township. Both drivers and Lisa Toth, 33, of Callensburg, a passenger in the pickup, were taken to Clarion Hospital with unspecified injuries.Monday — Gary Rankin of Rimersburg reported someone Sunday or Monday took several undisclosed items from his vehicle on Route 861 in Madison Township.10 a.m. May 23 — Five students were caught allegedly under the influence of narcotics at Union High School in Madison Township. The students, who police did not identify, face possible drug-related charges.
8 a.m. Saturday — Someone stole a dark green portable toilet, with a white roof and gray corners and valued at $750, from the parking lot of the Harley Store on Route 422 in Slippery Rock Township. It belongs to Approved Toilet Rental of Ellwood City.
