Robert and Betty Danner of Valencia marked their 50th wedding anniversary March 12 with a dinner, hosted by their children, at the Pines Tavern in Gibsonia.

The former Betty Park married Robert Danner on March 12, 1954, at Valencia Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. James Little officiating.

They are the parents of David Danner of Saxonburg, Craig Danner of Valencia, and Valerie Danner of Cranberry Township. A son, Jeffrey Danner, is deceased.

They also have three grandchildren.

Danner was employed 12 years by the Gulf Oil Company before opening Danner's Gulf Station in Butler. A 20-year professional in home construction, he worked for H.P. Starr and Sons Lumber Company in Copperstown before retiring.

He is a 32 degree Mason in the John E. Mair Lodge of Mars and past member of the Butler Notables.

Mrs. Danner worked as a teller at the former Bakerstown Savings and Loan and at the Farmers' Bank in Pittsburgh.

Mrs. Danner belongs to the Mars Chapter of Eastern Star.

Graduates of Mars High School and lifelong residents of the Valencia, the couple has been active in several community and church organizations. They are trustees of the Jeff Danner Memorial Scholarship Trust and members of the Valencia Presbyterian Church.
